Slippers of Success!
One ‘startlingly‘ item that caught my ‘fashion eye‘ recently was the Gucci slipper ‘shoes’ which featured on their A/W 15 runway show. The Gucci label has a new fashion director & this first showing of their collection certainly got the fashion world ‘all of a buzz’…but it was those furry slippers that took everyone by surprise. The collection certainly had more than a hint of ‘geek chic’ but paring slippers with pleated skirts, smart jackets & chic bags definably added a new & unexpected twist!
So taking this has my inspiration I scoured my local shops but found no hint of the furry shoes....(much to my dismay…) and with no option but to ‘log on’ online I found a pair of these ‘furry fashionistas’ at asos.com for £8.50 (reduced from £14) so quite a bargain, they are certainly fluffy but the fur is not quite as long as the Gucci ones…oh well…but still I can ’emulate’ this look at home – I am just not ‘brave’ enough yet to try them as street wear… so making myself a nice cuppa & indulging in a club biscuit (the orange flavour is really the only one to get…).
I put my ‘fluffy feet’ up & tuned into Fashion One channel & what do I find? More furry feet! (well the furry slippers to be exact) in the Antonio Marras collection, showing that this trend is moving fast!! Jumping up to ‘freeze the action’ I snapped these pics from the screen & also got an unexpected ‘psychedelic‘ effect which only adds to the truly ‘mesmerising’ quality of these slippers! So now slumping down at last to finish my tea & club biscuit, I must say I’m making a ‘toast’ to what I would call ‘Slippers of Success’...!!
