Winter Warmers…it ain’t so ‘bleak’ now…

it certainly is time to 'wrap up warmly' in great winter 'stylee'With the weather getting much colder this week it’s time to firmly wrap up in those ‘winter warmers’ yes it’s time to be as ‘snug as a bug’ in those cosy winter comforts. Whether it’s your trusty woolly hat and scarf, ‘snuggly snood’, or furry hat, it’s time to don your ‘Winter best’ and take a step out into the cold in ‘super seasonal style’. A magazine cutting I found from Woman’s Realm also suggests to ‘wrap up warmly’ with a choice of three very fashionable looks. All featuring tied belts in three different lengths of garments..(what choices!)  Firstly a full length plaid coat with open collar and large external pockets..nice! Those are great pockets to ‘dig your mitts into’. Secondly a short length casual jacket with a hood and flared sleeves, a look ‘bang on trend’ this season, it’s just simple yet effortless chic. Third and final look a truly ’no-nonsense’ stance taken in this mid-length coat, again with large square external pockets, (will this look hit the runway soon?) Wait! Let’s take a ‘chill pill’ and reflect – this is a ‘2 in 1’ number!  It’s a reversible coat as featured in the centre pic, how very versatile!

two looks from Paton's celebrating 'Winter chic'

Next is two looks from Paton’s knitting patterns, (& why not??) The first look is a bright ‘mustard yellow’ sleeveless pullover with chunky pattern detail, very bold! (though I’m not so sure about the matching husband and child in the background..hmmm..maybe give that a miss!). Next is a  ‘mauvey pink’ ensemble, which I deem  a knitting project for the more ambitious knitter (I am basing this on my complete lack of experience) is a long cardigan with matching hat and scarf, a very ‘cool look’ for those winter rambles. And of course I could not miss out here without featuring this black fake fur ‘snuggle hood’ or ‘snood’?, either way it’s warm cosy and practical, with this eye catching headwear what more can you ask?

snuggle 'hood' or is it snood? either way warm, cosy & a stylish look!

Staying on the headwear theme I came across these two mannequins in furry hats.

furring up to a 'fashion frenzy' + keeping warm too...

The black hat makes me feel all ‘Russia with love’ and the cream one I’m taken back to Abba’s ‘Name of the Game’ video with all the fabulous four furred up! (I know it’s going back a bit…)  Now as I gain my composure & ‘steady myself’,  I found this brown, white and blue pullover and scarf set in Stitchcraft magazine. This stripy burgundy number makes me think, of coming back from a long walk and settling down in front of an open fire snuggling up with a hot chocolate with maybe a dash of whiskey? (hmmm yes I think so..)

bold, bright, stripey - it's 'so right'

Finally Marianne is getting in on the ‘winter warmer act’ with this robust cream and grey snood, there’s no ‘walking on thin ice here’ oh no ! Its let’s ‘snood up’ big ‘stylee’ and isn’t she looking a bit ‘Anna Frida’ from Abba? ‘Knowing me, Knowing you’ all I ‘know’ is I am feeling a lot more positive in this cold snap, when the freezing biting air seems to freshen up my ‘fashion senses’ somehow…giving me a ‘proverbial winter fashion kick’ yep there’s nothing ‘bleak’ about this winter so far…!

Marianne's bold snood style - it's a 'winter wonder'
