Granny ‘Chic’- no turban required!

So Marianne feeling the ‘burst of Spring’ decided it was time to try a fresh look, ‘Granny Chic’ or maybe ‘Lady Chic’ with an added dose of Maximalism to complete the desired effect – load that jewellery on now ‘armour style!’ The approach can be described as taking a ‘strong stance’ in terms of use of colour and print, it’s bold bright and ‘breezy.’ It’s a no nonsense approach that is taking no prisoners, oh yes! As Marianne is unable to go shopping herself, she does require my help to obtain the right fashion items, so of course there was a charity shop search over a number of weeks to source the required items.

Looking hot Granny style! It's time to maximize!

Marianne is rocking that turban vibe by not wearing a turban! The first item I found was the bright orange tied chiffon blouse a complete steal at 70p, the pleated floral skirt was my mum’s and no longer worn = free! The grey floral bow bag was 99p, green pin bow 20p, the cameo from my own collection (can’t remember where I got it). The statement brown beaded necklace was 50p, the pink necklace was 99p and the gold chain was from my ‘go to’ jewellery store Purple Ivy at Poundland = unsurprisingly £1!  The ‘explosive’ style jewelled brooch was £1, bow brooch was also from my own collection, the headscarf was 1 of 3 for £1 at the charity shop bargain!

this brooch is taking no nonsense...& the bow is a 'backup'

A closer up inspection reveals the attention to detail is everything

For 2 of the 3 bracelets and rings it was back to Purple Ivy = £3. The ‘pearlesque’ bracelet was a gift = free, the gold and turquoise bangles £1 and silver ring 50p. The ‘groovy granny’ chic leopard glasses were also from Poundland, the ‘brash’ gold earrings were also free in a very smart G Plan jewellery box I bought a while back, the applique flower on the scarf was also ‘knocking around’ in a ‘box of stuff’, got the blue tights for 50p, and those vibrant bright orange socks were part of a pack from Primark £2.50 ÷ 4 = 62p and finally the glitter lace trim on the socks was also ‘knocking around’ in my ‘box of stuff’ (doesn’t everyone have one of those?)

You don't need a lot of money create a great look...

Bringing it to a grand total of £12.33! Not bad for a ‘maximal look on a minimal budget’…of course the shoes were bit of a ‘trial’ not easy to change due to having to hammer and saw a hole for Marianne to stand on! Oh well, at least these diamante black sandals are versatile…if anyone knows where you get mannequin shoes from please get in touch now! I think photoshopping for the future may be the only option I have. So I think Marianne is now gaining ground as maybe ‘2016’s Fashion Queen’, the look is quirky, on trend and lots of fun, only if I was brave enough to step forward with this style…looks like it’s back to beige for me…

Let's look at this 'magazine' style!
