In a ‘tight spot’…

So I’m in a ‘tight spot’ both physically and ‘fashionably’…still not well, and in a form of erhmm…‘exercise’, I was sorting through my collection of vintage tights. I just love the packaging on these beauties, they also have a definite ‘no nonsense approach’ to labelling! With a ‘full panel gusset’ you really know what they are on about..! Stockleigh and BEA’s ‘set the trend’ tights, well I can’t argue with that! What with a very cool lady featured on the packet, wearing very large glasses, (quite ‘Deirdre’ from Coronation Street) beret, mini skirt and striped top (still on trend..). Though having that amount of legroom these days is rather unlikely! Stay on a trend with these tights! And enjoy the 'legroom'!So why am I so interested in tights? Well as an avid skirt wearer you have ‘no option’ (and I don’t ‘do’ bare legs..). There is no way I could ever leave the house without wearing them! So whenever I see a pair available at a good price I am there at the cash desk already handing over my ‘el dinero’. sadly it's goodbye to Aristoc....Also I’m thinking of  venturing into the hosiery arena myself…but I’m finding that it isn’t straightforward, oh no…and in doing my research recently, I discovered some very sad news, in that the tights manufacturer Courtauld (maker of some of my faves Aristoc and Pretty Polly) went bust last year (no pun intended..) just a few years away from its centenary. (Can you believe it??) I am so reassured with the full panel gusset I can now relax & have a drink...!I was honestly very shocked…how could this renowned company hit the wall? Well apparently it collapsed after the also sad demise of BHS, one of its main suppliers not only for tights but for clothing too. How terrible! Kinda makes me sick to the stomach…when this happens…therefore all the more important I ‘keep on collecting’ as these items are definitely now part of fashion history!!It was with 'sheer delight' I came across these!

there was even more delight when I added these to my collection too!
