Putting my foot and (toe) in it….

I was on the hunt for some summer ‘suitable’ sandals, they had to be beige or tan at the very least…comfortable and of a ‘good make’, plus within my ‘limited’ budget (no tall order here…at all..). So look no further than a car boot sale I went to recently when I came up ‘trumps’ (by the way…nothing to do with any president whatsoever..) with a pair of  Berkertex sandals at just the right price of £4 (the lady said they were never worn before..) but on checking at home, they had been but only very lightly so overall I was very pleased with my bargain buy.

I was pleased with my bargain buy hardly... worn too!

Question is what do I wear with them? My ‘American tan’ or rather skin toned/flesh coloured tights of course! These enable the essential job of preserving my ‘modesty’, and (more importantly…) not show my ‘bright white’ legs to the public et all! I just don’t do ‘bare legs’ except one’s with tights on. Previously I was looking at buying a pair of slides, but they kinda ‘slid’ off my fashion list at present…though because of them I started looking at ‘footies’ usually worn with trainers.

I found these lace...footies as a reasonable price too!

Now expanding to encompass ‘any shoes’ you can wear, court or ballet etc to cover the foot only, so you can go bare legged comfortably. Except although there aim is ‘discreet’ you can usually see them showing through the edges of the shoe…so I thought why not embrace it? I found a pair of flesh coloured lace footies (very disturbing..?) and the results are pictured here.

the lace footies well with my sandals and my flesh coloured tights...!

The new know the lace footies well with my sandals and my flesh coloured tights…!

On their own they look very ‘dainty’ and almost like a ‘Victorian slipper’, I can just see the characters in my favourite novels donning in a pair. So it did make me feel rather at ‘home and cosy’. Also I think ‘mixing up’ hosiery gives them a real ‘fashion edge’…so you’ve seen it here first (?..) footies over tights very comfortable indeed…though maybe a…tad ‘scary’…?!

On their own they had a Victorian 'slipper' appeal which goes well with my Mary Elizabeth Braddon novel...
