A nail attempt…
My natural nails have been suffering they peel, they crack and constantly break, they are weak and look well…not that ‘great’. I apply nail polish that ‘guarantees 7 day wear’ only to chip almost immediately, and rather fed up with this dilemma, I thought what about trying some false nails? Aka ‘falsies’, so that’s exactly what I did, and not wanting to make this a ‘permanent fixture’, I decided against going to a salon and thought I’d do a ‘DIY job’ myself. Giving the ‘stick on’ variety a go, in the idea that I have some control…as and when in taking them off myself. So I came across a packet of ‘New Nude’ (…?) glue on nails from Primark for £1…expecting no great things at all…
Though I’ve had them on now for three days and despite a few popping off and having to replace them they seem amazingly strong. The idea is to wear them for a while so my natural nails can grow underneath (well that’s the plan…). Although reading online it seems the glue is very bad for your nails but to be honest they couldn’t have been much worse really, so I didn’t have a lot to ‘lose’…They may be damaging but I thought what the hell? And it’s not like I’m not spoiled for choice! From the Insta Girl range such as ‘Selfie Addict’ (ironically…not me!) to Elegant Touch ‘Drinks at Dawn’ I have to say the variety available is quite astounding, you can get glitter, sequins, metallic, diamante’s, matte or high shine, holographic, airbrushed and that’s not all probably! (In fact I’ve come up with a new idea what about nails with your very own selfie printed on…eh??).
I think I’ve got every angle covered and I just love some of the names ‘On Fleck’ (whatever that is…), ‘Sultry’, ‘Galactic’, ‘Gold Rush’, and ‘Baby Doll’ (which I find rather sinister despite the name…). I was really not expecting so much ‘choice’…And more importantly I did not expect them to last more than a day and it’s been three…(Though they are supposed to last up to 7 days, we’ll see…). I’m really going against the ‘grain’ here as I always thought them well to ‘girly’? (And you probably can’t say that any more…but that’s how it was when I was brought up…). Also too ‘insignificant’ and to be blunt…frankly shallow, so I’m really stepping outside my ‘comfort zone’ here…anyway here’s to hoping my plan to rejuvenate my real nails remains ‘on point’…?
