‘Biggus’…’McBaggus’…

On flicking through an old crochet magazine I picked up at the Charity Shop, I was struck by the huge multicoloured crochet bag talk about big! Talk about ambitious! So I searched further and I found a large shopper both you can make, though for me the shopper would be a lot easier as I can’t crochet for toffee nor really knit…unfortunately. I just love the boldness and that ‘in-your-face’ effect you definitely can’t ignore it! Which brought to mind a few fashion shows I’ve seen recently featuring very large bags (like oversized and totally huge…) and the catwalk ‘carry a massive bag under your arm pit’ which really does not look at all comfortable or really ‘practical’ nor have I seen anyone do it…yet

Love the idea of doubling as a cushion and the Jennifer bag would do for taking to the supermarket though I’d have to rip that name off!

Checking out Elle Magazine for large bags I found a checked Fendi one in which it was commented ‘doubles as a cushion ‘ yep I’d agree with that and a good idea too, plus a Dior ‘Jennifer’ bag (just in case…she forgets her name??…). So then I did my usual ‘check out the High Street’ (while there’s still a vestige of some shops left…).

A practical one + highly useful and a totally blank canvas…

Where I came across a not very inspiring beige holdall (but very functional at least plus ‘beige is back again!’) a very plain canvas bag (literally a canvas for you to embellish or make your own?) Also a couple of very large black holdalls so nothing at all exciting and that was it

On looking further this was all I could find not exactly inspiring but well I guess useful at times…

I couldn’t find anything else so I thought I’d better check out the Charity Shops and came across this cream shell bead encrusted number which fills the criteria of possibly ‘trending’ with its cowrie shells ‘clicking in’ with that informed  hippy vibe…? Well at least that’s the theory so regarding the bag issue is it really one size fits all? Or…???

In the dimly lit Charity Shop…I came across a bag that ticked several boxes!
