It’s a pain….
From a ‘nothing’ November to a dull and painful December I certainly did not get into the Christmas Spirit at all. Unfortunately I was struck down with a dreadful cold/flu suffering a totally blocked nose, a cough and a very sore throat…meaning the lead up to Christmas was not good. I had no energy or enthusiasm I couldn’t even get it together to put up decorations, buy presents or send cards. Everything was just too much with my body feeling totally wasted the only choice was to stay in bed when possible (though this is hard when you have a dog and they just want to go ‘walkies’ regardless!) fair enough but I think going out in minus temperatures really sealed my fate and illness set in. I even had to sign up with deliveroo to get some basic essentials and food for Christmas dinner! Then just as my cold started to wain I got sudden severe toothache in not one but two teeth…OMG what next? So after the Christmas bank holiday it was straight on the phone looking for an emergency dentist, which was extremely stressful as even the private ones had no appointments! In absolute agony I just had to keep ringing until finally I got an appointment in which the outcome wasn’t good, an infection was present resulting in immediate antibiotics. No choice at all and guess who wouldn’t be able to have a drink at New Year? Oh dear…here’s hoping that 2023 brings some joy after the disaster that was 2022…
