A ‘tale’ of two magazines

Well, I got them both for free, so I can’t really argue. One I found on a bus, which was the Wallpaper magazine R.R.P. £10 and Stylist, which I’ve not seen for absolutely ages. I used to get this free once a week at the tube station, now I found it dumped on a newspaper stand, and it’s £1.99! So it’s NOT free anymore. Oh well, I did wonder what happened to it as I loved my weekly freebie! But since the first lock down, it disappeared from view and went digital only, now also print (with a subscription). I mean I do really like this magazine, but will I bother to subscribe? Probably not if I’m totally honest…(but you never know.) I could do an about-turn! The Wallpaper magazine isn’t really my thing + it costs a colossal £10! Good grief! That is expensive! And like a lot of high-end magazines full of adverts! Also, there is very little in it that I can relate to and find apart from being visually attractive rather dull.

From Haute Chocolate trend (Stylist) to Nostalgic bag styles (Wallpaper)

Flicking through it, I did like the article on a return to ‘structured, top-handled styles of the 1950s’ bags, well yes, I approve and would really like one. Except I can’t afford it…so forget it! For now…! Currently, I’m on the lookout for a bag with multiple compartments (like the ones in the 1970s) as I’m constantly losing things…inside my bag! (Is that possible? Well, yes…) + I’d be damned if I could find said item just when I need it, even with a light on my key ring, I still fail! And panic and faff about…not good. In the Stylist magazine I was heartened to hear of a Haute Chocolate trend, because I do like and approve of a bit of brown, which hasn’t ‘trended’ for ages…(yes, like since the 1970s). I mean…I’ve only had to wait over 40 years for its return…never mind…you can’t have everything. So now I’m on the lookout for my next freebie find! Wonder…what it’ll be??? I doubt it will be one of of the bags pictured…unfortunately…
