Blingy Bags

On my recent photographic travels this month, I encountered bags so blingy that they hurt my eyes. Dazzling, under bright unforgiving shop lights, I stopped in my tracks to capture this delightful burst of sparkle. This glamorous look attracts me, but I won’t wear them, oh no, they’re just a bit OTT for me! From the cheap (pictured above), to the high-end below, the main criteria is that they are covered in high shine diamantés. Bright, vibrant, and attention grabbing, they certainly cheered an otherwise dull October day.

high end = high shine. but the cheap bags compete well in the glamour stakes

Obviously to wear one of these bags would require dressing  ‘up to the nines’ for a special evening/night out, and not generally for your everyday tasks (though I’m sure someone will buck the trend, and why not?). So, if you do combine with a tracksuit and trainers, I salute you! I won’t mind being ‘bling blasted’ in the supermarket, if it brightens that dreary task up a tad. Though my personal stance is more subdued, shy, and ‘hide in a corner’, I welcome a trend that messes with my everyday reality. Things are pretty miserable at the moment, and a bit of glitter flickering defiantly under strip lights will certainly work for me. Even if this effervescence only lasts a few seconds, it still distracts the mind in a positive direction and I welcome it. Making it a win-win ‘bling bling’ in my book…
