Fringe…’benefits’..?
Flicking through my ES magazine recently, I came across an article reporting on the ‘micro fringe trend’, at the recent London Fashion week’s catwalks. It was seen from designers such as Mary Katrantzou, J.W. Anderson, House of Holland and Mulberry, and if it’s good enough for them, it’s more than good enough for Marianne! Who does like to keep up on all the latest trends, therefore I was ‘under pressure’ pronto, to sort this fashion ‘emergency!’
So not wanting to ruin one of Marianne’s regular wig’s, I popped off down to Poundland to see what was on offer (a place of previously pro-cured wig’s) and found, this electric blue bob wig as a very suitable candidate. So it was ‘out with the scissor’s’ and I snipped, snipped away to a slightly wonky fringe (but I feel that only adds to the look) and hey presto! Marianne’s micro fringe debut! It’s very easy for her of course…
As she can change has hairstyles in a millisecond, but for the rest of us a fringe requires more thought and planning, and the fact that a fringe has not been a recent fad it’s all the more welcome for a comeback! Though if you just wanted to ‘try a fringe out’ I did find some ‘stick on’ options on Ebay, and I think this is a good way to see if the style suits before you go for the chop. Also it seems this trend has already impacted in my local Charity shop’s and High street, plus ‘going uptown’ at Louis Vuitton’s pink fringe affair. All I can say is ‘all hail the micro fringe’ – while it lasts…
