I NEED a coffee…
I’m stressed out. I’m trying to sell my house. I need a coffee. I’m stressed out. I need to sell my house. Like the T-shirt above ‘coffee a.m. coffee p.m.’ that’s definitely me at the moment….it’s a better addiction than other ‘unsuitable’ substances or beverages….and this fact seems to have hit the fashion trend at a local market. Must be onto something…not sure what though…but coffee shops are everywhere aren’t they? We no longer prioritise tea shops they are mainly seen as just ‘quaint’ and ‘touristy’. I do occasionally like to go out and have a coffee, especially at the dog café but the prices of some of the coffees is really out there. I object to a major chain being put in my local hospital where the tea bar used to be run by volunteers. They got ousted to be replaced by a major coffee chain who gave them a ‘backhander’…not exactly honest is it? The profit they must make from a target audience with nothing else around there, must be phenomenal. I’m totally against it and would not buy anything from them. I don’t believe that the over inflated prices for coffee even if you do get a massive mug is justified. Also I hate it when something I like gets taken over by a bigger chain which has happened frequently.
Several years ago there was a convenient coffee machine chain called Coffee Nation which if you were out on the road it would be in the W.H. Smith or petrol station. I always used to enjoy a coffee there, but of course that got taken over by Costa*, and now the coffee is no longer as good and is more expensive, not great for the consumer is it? But who really cares about us? It’s just great for these huge coffee chains! Though I love it I’m against spending that amount of money and I choose to enjoy coffee at home which is helping me de-stress through this very trying situation. I thought putting my house on the market it would’ve sold a lot quicker…obviously not, even though there’s supposedly a ‘housing crisis’. The constant cleaning and tidying when you’re not well isn’t good, so I’m taking it off for a while but it’ll be back on again soon as I want to move. I just hope that the coffee sustains me through this painful, exasperating, and maddening process of selling a house…tips anyone? And not ridiculous ones thank you!!
* Just looked this up it was in 2011 OMG! I thought it was more recent, in my mind it is! But my opinion still stands it’s just wasn’t for the benefit of the consumer…and personally mourn it’s loss still…am I sad or mad?
