‘I’m going all Pink n Blue for a chat..’

Captured this fun image on a ‘street near me’, it caught my eye & certainly adds more visual interest than a blank shop face…which unfortunately has been a familiar sight up & down the country of recent times. No details of who did it – maybe a local artist? So why, these ‘gentile ladies’? Is it ‘merely picturesque’, (like that’s a nice bag) or telling a tale? The younger Lady on the right is looking rather coy & slightly disturbed by the Lady in Blue, whose gaze & gesturing seems to be directed to the others bag.

it’s time for a chat..

So is this a depiction of a Victorian ‘shoplifting incident’?  (‘Excuse me’ if I think this, but I have been watching BBC’s ‘Oxford Street’… which high-light’s this issue, so just because she looks respectable doesn’t mean she can’t get up to ‘no good…’ – incidentally I find this topic very interesting…) or is just that the young Lady in Pink wishes to ‘get away’ from the gossipy Lady in Blue? (yes..I know we’ve all been there at some point….)

Hmmm…possibilities…possibilities.. either way, it got me thinking up some fun scenarios (I have read a lot of Victorian novels & watched many period dramas so forgive me if I’m getting carried away…but it’s too fun to resist..!) Well I think need to calm down now with a nice cup of tea & a jammy dodger, dreaming up whether my Pink Lady was ‘shopped’ for her ‘uncouth behaviour’ or merely ‘shopping around for some fun’!
