Join in the fun its Friday ‘Bride’ day!
So today is ‘Friday Brideday’ on TLC so I thought I would join in the fun… its the last Friday of month & I need a bit of a pick me up as I’ve been bed ridden with bronchitis all week so not ‘any fun’ at all...I present here a Bride from my archives…(yes I know she is rather stunning!) She’s is a 1920/30’s Bride that was on display at a small yet fascinating seaside museum a while back (at a ‘secret’ location…)
This Bride wears a beautiful ‘Broderie anglaise’ (a key look this season with Chanel & Valentino ‘et el’ jumping on board) lace veil, a simple flowered crown, an ivory satin dress with embroidered flowers & beading, ‘set off’ with a white net scarf & drop bead necklace. Satin court shoes are tastefully displayed alongside…it’s a key look that even modern brides will want to emulate. So stylish yet elegant, this look ‘gently’ captures an old world charm with ‘ease‘ (though in it’s day this look must of been the ‘dogs bollocks’ -& the height of wedding chic’).
It is simple yet refined, & because of this ‘no nonsense approach’ it gets my ‘like’ stamp of approval (a very high honour & no messing!) ‘Miss Bride’ looks ‘demur’ without even trying, with those extra long lashes, shaped cheeks & pout (her lips are in need of a bit of a ‘refresh’ to put it politely – take a look) but she can certainly ‘give those brides who appear on Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta et all a ride for their money’ & she’s a whole lot quieter & easier to please too.. (watch it & you’ll see what I mean…but hey ‘that’s all part of the fun!’)
I am also indulging in some Apple pie with a ‘dollop of natural yogurt’ (I’m skipping the cream…) to accompany my ‘viewing fest‘- a most delicious treat (try it!) (displayed most pleasingly on my 70’s kilncraft plate- getting to be a ‘rare’ item these days) So now as well as ‘Friday Brideday’ its ‘Friday Pieday’ too! ahhhh….
