Metallic ‘attack’…
It’s a fashion style that doesn’t disappear forever (what does??) in fact if I think about it is always on something even if it’s only just a trim…or more appropriately a ‘glimmer’ it has that ‘other world’ space age quality and I rather love it. As a child growing up with 1970’s Sci-Fi, I felt ‘at home’ with it and it comforted me somehow. It’s like adding that bit ‘extra’ without going over the top!
I remember my first ‘major’ metallic item was around the age of 13 it was a silver hip length jacket with black and white striping down the sleeve and a ‘sliver’ of yellow. I absolutely loved it and it was a constant friend. I felt ‘trendy’ and it was waterproof! So on reading in a magazine that metallic’s are ‘back’ I was cheered inside and yep as usual did my local ‘hunting down’ of that look. Firstly I found a very pretty gold shoe with a pink ribbon bow not me at all, but I can appreciate it’s attractiveness and it wasn’t the only pretty footwear I came across…there was a lot including sandals and pumps, the sandals I found were a bit ‘OTT’ with an encrusted crystal effect that was not really ‘necessary’…
Metallic bags are next a good and easy way to add that metallic touch to your outfit without going ‘overboard’. Also let’s not forget the Charity Shops where I found sandals and a rather cool black and gold dress, though now I’m wondering where do I find another silver jacket??
