No photo at the show…

Walking past a local hotel I noticed that the Wedding Fair was on again and as I was going past anyway, I thought why not? I went last year for the first time, though I can’t say it was extensive…it was ‘Bridal’ and only down the road. It was in a rather grand Hotel on the seafront, so up I went to the first floor to the Fair and I was actually hoping it had expanded this year…but well apparently not…

The Wedding Fair was on again so I immediately added this to my calendar!

The Wedding Fair was on again so I immediately added this to my calendar!

There was only about eight stalls and not a lot on view to be honest…though there were some fab wedding cakes.  Across the room I spotted a few bridal gowns that were silhouetted as they were displayed against the window, so there was I just taking a few shots when I was stopped in my tracks by a rather annoyed stallholder that I was taking pictures, “err..well…there..was no sign saying no photography”, I said “anyway I was just taking a few pics as a friend couldn’t make it” she then gave me a card and I was told to ‘view them on the website’…with that attitude I would definitely not. If I were in the market to actually buy a bridal gown, I wouldn’t touch this seller ‘with a barge pole!’ Honestly what do you expect?

No photo 'allowed'...apart from the cakes…

No photo ‘allowed’…apart from the cakes…

When you go to a show pay to display your goods in the aim of promoting yourself, and then take issue when someone is taking a photo with no sign saying ‘no photography’? Please! With that approach you not going to get anywhere, and it’s not as if they were ‘exclusive’ or ‘highly sought-after’ and encrusted with diamonds…so I have to say I left the show with a rather unfortunate bitter taste in my mouth and was rather peeved. (could’ve done with some Wedding cake after all… And maybe some champagne too it’s a Wedding Fair after all) This experience harks back to my other ‘no photo’ incident in Selfridge’s London posted here https://philippanestie.com/?s=selfridges. Oh well ‘onwards and upwards’ I am not going to let some ‘grump’ spoil my ‘wedding bliss’…
