On holiday!
Yes I’m off on a short holiday, a ‘vacation’, ‘en vacances’….but I’m off for a whole week….I’ll be staying in the UK so I’ll have to brace myself for ‘any weather’, the temperature is cooling at present, so I’ll have to make sure my wardrobe is ‘weather appropriate’, it could be sun, it could be rain so a good brolley & sunglasses will be ‘de rigeur’ for me. On my various excusions I will be on the look out for any ‘interesting’ items to acquire, namely a good thimble (I’m a collector) which usually involves a frantic search whilst in a holidaying area, where it’s ‘forget the scenery!’ – where’s the thimble??
Of course this can result in no end of amusement & desperation when I discover there is no thimble! This can be pretty devastating as the said location is usually an ideal candidate! This, not only do I find it very frustrating but difficult to comprehend! I mean why not if you can?? Oh well, if that happens I can always find a suitable café & indulge in nice cuppa & a bun or even a ‘cream tea’ if available…(though I am supposed to be watching what I eat..) but well if you can’t ‘let go’ on holiday when can you?? So I’ll have to give myself a ‘holiday’ from this kind of thought but it’s not easy..
Though hopefully my mind will not be on such things, so long as I can find some relaxing & diverting activities to engage with, I’ll try & keep a log of any ideas & inspirations. You never know what fashion items I may find or indeed any fashionable holiday makers or locals who may be worthy of a ‘snap’ or two (though this may not go down well with some individuals so I’ll have to be stealthy & coy in my approach..). All in all I’m looking forward to my seaside jaunt, bringing a change of scenery, & a ‘breath of fresh air’, air that I hope will be moderate & not blow me off my feet (like some sea winds)…quick I think I’ll have to hold on to my hat…(hopefully I won’t need the rain hood – no matter how fashionable it is this season…).
