Say Yes to the dress?? Programme on TLC
Recent programmes that have caught my eye have been Say Yes to the dress on TLC, a lot of these are re-runs as the programme has been going for a while. I have been feeling under the weather and needed a non-challenging watch, the show is set in Kleinfelds Bridal shop in Manhattan and follows the experience of around 3 brides per show. Her journey to find the perfect ‘dress’, the pain and torture of finding the right gown, the bride also usually brings her ‘entourage’ of family, friends etc who can either seriously help or hinder…
This brought my mind to another ‘bride’ the 60’s style and rather disturbing mannequin bride I photographed a while back at the heritage museum on Foulness Island. I love mannequins and have photographed many, here she is above, I have also been watching the ‘bargain basement’ version of Say Yes to the Dress in ‘I Found the Gown’ set in Vows Bridal shop where cheaper versions of bridal wear can be found, Philippa always loves a bargain…it a slippery slope as I have also been watching Randy’s Wedding Rescue…
