Sliders with no ‘slip up’…?

Browsing online recently I came across a bold fashion article claiming that Sainsbury’s £6 sliders were the sandals of the summer. At this price point and claiming to be a dupe of some rather more expensive sandals I thought I’d better investigate. Not only were they commended for their style and price but were compared to some ‘designer’ sandals retailing at £200 (though to note the brand was not detailed). Although no one can doubt at all the more than passing resemblance to Birkenstocks (copyright??! + I’m fortunate enough to have one pair though due to feet issues I can no longer wear flats…). The said Tu sandals not only come in a range of bright poolside colours but for £7 you can enjoy either a floral, cheetah, leopard, rose or tropical print. (Sounds good?).

put you’re best foot forward in these at a bargain price…?

With budgets reducing due to the cost of living crisis it looks like these fast fashion sandals are bound to be popular. Not great for the planet really…I’ve not looked into Tu environmental stance so not sure how they play this. This article came out when the weather just started to heat up, unfortunately temperatures have dropped again but sandals are needed during the summer even if you’ve got feet issues like myself and described by Tu as “the ultimate perfect poolside accessory”, with “an extra-comfy moulded inner sole and a gripped outer sole.” So if you can walk in flats they might just be for you! Well without further ado I rushed down to my local Sainsburys to see what was in stock? Well the prominent article must of done it’s trick as locally it was down to bright blue, leopard print and black and white spotted. Leaving a bit of a limited choice so even though they were at a bargain price I wasn’t tempted…I’ll have to stick with my slip on wedges for quite a while. Just wish I could put my foot forward into fully functioning healed feet, now that would be a bonus! Yep at my age…things have started to get tricky on the feet front…just never thought I’d see the day when that would happen!

leap into leopard? why not? for £7 if you can walk in these it might just be the right step
