‘Think Pink’…A new ‘model’ makes an appearance…!
I may have found a new ‘friend’ for Stephanie…. on a recent excursion to some further a field Charity Shops I captured this mannequin featured in one of the shop windows. Her pink wig & fascinator drew me in…her black & white polka dot dress complimented the look nicely too, though where are the shoes? This detail is often forgotten….though as I am such a fashionista it’s something I cannot ignore…she is further accessorized with two black necklaces, though I feel a bracelet would of been very nice, & a stylish black satin clutch bag with maybe a pink edging or feather would of completed this look to a higher standard and attracted even more visitors through the door….
Looking closer up her make up matches the wig! Pale pink lips, with bright blue eyes, black eyeliner, soft pink eyeshadow & nicely shaped brows..(no need for a ‘wow brow‘ here..) all in all she is looking rather confident & ‘chic’. A hint of ‘romance’ is added with the painted plate detail (to the bottom right) with a scene worthy of a Mills & Boon cover…(though I must stop here so I don’t get ‘carried away’).
Now is it me? Or do her hands & arms look rather large in comparision with her head? Here I really feel bracelets would of helped detract from this ‘imperfection‘…oh well you can’t have everything can you? But this look has turned ‘on it’s head’ the colour pink for me…a colour I use to detest from childhood ‘overload‘ (‘Miss‘ Barbie has a lot to answer for) …but now with this softer ‘pastelle’ approach I’ll be more open to ‘thinking pink’ than I have been for rather a long while…
When I was small they use to say ‘Wear pink to make the boys wink…’ (very corny & outmoded I know) but now for me, it’s ‘think pink that as it really doesn’t have to ‘stink’ – so ‘push off Barbie‘ & make way for the ‘new model’ a la Charity shop! (you heard it here first of course….oh yes!).
