Vive La France! Bastille Day!

Vive La France! Marianne takes a little time out to capture her day out!So its ‘Vive La France’ as Marianne ‘jumps onto Eurostar’ to join the French in their national holiday Bastille Day. Many celebrations are afoot & Ms Marianne does not want to miss out! So I booked her a ticket & well she was off! Her fashion look is ‘decidedly French‘ first choosing a beautiful floppy hat using French fashion icon Lou Dillon as inspiration – & why not?? Then the colours had to be the red white & blue of the French flag. The hat is tastefully accented with ribbon’s (not too much as we don’t want to go ‘over board’) red, white & blue necklaces, (of course) a ribbon ‘doubling as a necklace’ (& a very successful look too) a blue ‘chic’ casual vest, decorated with a red flower brooch & to finish off an ‘improvised’ white net shrug. All in all I feel capturing the ‘Spirit of the Bastille day in the most perfect way’..even though she’s super busy Marianne still managed to find the time to send me a lovely picture of her in front of the Eiffel tower, & it looks like she is getting into the spirit of things! Well I can only make a nod to this day at home by enjoying a croissant & a ‘cafe au lait’, whilst pondering on this very important national holiday & ‘take myself back in time’ to this day in 1789, when the storming of the Bastille prison took place initiating the start of the French revolution.. & as ‘Marianne’ is the feminine symbol of French freedom it’s only fitting that she should be over in Paris today. Apparently you can watch the fireworks online (not the same I know but well…) I’m definitely going to check this out! I’m sure lots of fireworks & explosion’s are fitting way to celebrate Bastille Day! I hope Marianne will return invigorated & ‘ready to rumble’ in a French fashion ‘stylee’ way!..(well we’ll see…but I’m sure it’s gonna be good!)My coffee & crossiant celebrating at home!
