Shells the way?
Money for ‘ol rope’, or rather a shell on a rope to be precise. After last year’s ‘shell sensation bag’, https://philippanestie.com/a-shell-sensation/ my recent visit to Primark revealed some attractive shell hair slides and a shell on a rope necklace. My mind cast back to last year’s shell bag dupe of Chloe’s superb designer original. Was this year’s shell necklace of a similar vein? Not according to my research; I found no designer versions of the shell rope combination, but I did find a multitude of High Street/online retailers such as Cachet/Boo-hoo/ASOS and Peacocks (not pictured).
Primark are not alone in the shell stakes
Though I did find a picture-perfect rendition, a.k.a. Disney’s villain Ursula in The Little Mermaid, with a ‘slam dunk’ version of the shell necklace. Though to note, I did not see any rope; this character I’m not familiar with, and it was a bit like Ursula who? And despite a thorough search of my local High Street shops (what’s left…), I found very little apart from some gold and silver shell-inspired earrings in H&M, and a few items in Next + Newlook. That’s it…Very disappointed and ‘shell shocked’. After last year’s hype, I was seriously expecting MORE, only to be let down and ‘cast adrift’ amongst the meagre pickings of my High Street ‘Odyssey’ (if you can call it that). Oh well, at least personally I won’t be ‘shelling out’ on this shell on a rope necklace . No, thank you, not even for the stated price of £4! Even 99p would not tempt me; it’s just not for me….
Items from Next and H&M, however my camera seemed to be having a ‘hissy’ fit…a ‘focusing freak” out….HELP! And note the mysterious ‘security protected message…
